Deia has little more than 500 residents. It is located in the “Sierra Tramuntana”. Most residents are fishermen and farmers. Deia has uniques and admirables views, which attract many artists who inspire in the beauty of nature.

Cala Deià

The small Cala de Deia is about 20 minutes walk or 5 minutes by car from the hotel. If you prefer walking, you can walk through Deia go through a special garden with many ancient olive trees. If you prefer to travel by car, there is a parking lot about 200 meters from the beach. In the summer, two restaurants are open in which you can eat freshly caught fish.

Cala Llucalcari o Es Canyeret

This small Cala is located in a ravine. The bay is divided into two parts, one with stones (left) and one with rocks (right). The left side has a small canal flowing out water from the mountains. There are small puddles of mud with which one can rub the body. (Sludge has been used since long times for its medicinal and beauty purposes. Mexican Pre-Columbian cultures have used mud to heal and preserve.) On the right side you can find space on the flat rock to lie down and relax.

From Deia to Soller

It is a journey of a little over two hours, covering the 8 kilometers separating the two peoples. The route begins in the C-710, between points 60.2 and 60.3, which is about 10 minutes from Deia Llucalcari direction.

The Teix

One of the most traditional excursions in Majorca is the ascent to Teix. The circuit described below is one that begins and ends in Valldemossa, although there are many more.
The climb begins ascending to Teix stone stairs that are next to the old public school in Valldemossa. At the end of the stairs, making a small zigzag of right, left, left, right, is the carriage road that leads up to plain “Pouet” next to the entrance to the Finca “Son Gual Petit.
